What a Colorful and Joyful Visit to our school today

On May 28^th 2024 we are blessed to host Father Fr. Marc Desmet, SJ, Regional Superior of the European Low Countries who visited our school this morning. He was accompanied by Fr. Fabien Gasigwa,S.J, Regional Superior of the Jesuits of Rwanda-Burundi Regional.

After a warm welcome from the school rector Fr. Innocent Ruguragu, Fr. Emile Nsengimana the director of the high school and Sr. Liberata Epimaque, the headmistress of Ecole Maternelle, Fr. Marc Desmet had a wonderful interaction with students. High school students Isingizwe M.E. Malaika and Muhirwa G. Ian presented a brief history of the school and why St Ignatius is an excellent place for them and their fellow students to grow and actualize themselves via scholarships, academic depth and extracurricular activities. Also the school leadership talked about the development projects and the potential collaboration with Jesuit schools in his Region and across the globe.Father Fr. Marc Desmet, SJ congratulated the school on its promotion of the girls’ education, STEAM and ICT following the opportunity they offer with AI.

Finally, the school leadership invited Fr. Marc to plant his own tree at school, an environment practice in the spirit of Laudato si at St. Ignatius school. The visit concluded with Fr. Marc shining out by playing frute instrument and singing with and for maternelle students and their teachers.
